Field Day To Address Beef Producer Issues

US - Helping producers tackle all issues ranging from waste to pink eye is the aim of Iowa Beef Centre's and Iowa State University Extension field day.

The field day which will be held at the McNay Memorial Research Farm fall field day on 23 September will address topics that are sure to help producers handle problems commonly see this time of year.

Topics to be addressed by livestock experts include:

  • feeding co-products to extend grass and improve performance
  • renovating fescue pastures with the “spray/smother/spray” method
  • reducing hay feeding waste
  • managing pink eye strategies
  • storing wet distillers grains to extend feed usage
