Cattle Congress in Calgary
CANADA - The seventh International Livestock Congress(ILC), which takes place in Calgary on 10, aims to equip producers, processors, exporters and the public sector with the strategic insight and tools required for managing and succeeding in the complex environment facing the industry.Recognizing in this market that there are no ready-made answers or instant solutions in all areas of the beef cattle sector, a group of industry stakeholders provided input into development of the ILC-Calgary program and objectives to equip the industry to face today’s and tomorrow’s challenges.
Keeping the interests of the entire beef value chain in mind, the ILC is once again developed under the oversight of the Canadian Cattlemen's Association, in partnership with the Calgary Stampede and the International Stockmen's Education Foundation.
The ILC-Calgary focuses on bringing together major international industry experts to profile the forces shaping today’s industry, and its future, providing participants an opportunity to look, listen, learn, analyze and gain from the shared experience to meet their own challenges.
Speakers dig deep into strategic possibilities and enable participants to share in their experience as well as that of others attending.
Reaching out to future industry leaders is also a major mandate of the ILC-Calgary. Aimed at creating vital exposure for our industry to meet the high demand for creative solutions, the ILC involves students to encourage a new generation with the energy, intellect and creativity we need to keep it sustainable.
This year the ILC will sponsor 16 Canadian and international students, in a special three-day program, to identify and increase their awareness of the issues facing the industry and the global impact.
The ILC-Calgary learning experience will encourage these promising young people to continue their career in agriculture, regardless of where they are from.
It brings young talent to Alberta to experience and have an appreciation of Canadian agriculture and encourage future agricultural industry leaders, plus possibly meet a potential employer. Students will have the opportunity to hear, learn from and interact with global agricultural industry experts, many of whom are speaking, plus sponsors, stakeholders and others attending the ILC.
