US - American Meat Institute (AMI) joined a diverse array of more than 50 organizations in voicing opposition to increasing the ethanol blend levels in gasoline until further scientific testing can be performed to ensure consumers will not be negatively impacted by an increase in the ethanol blend level. The letter addressed to the heads of the Department of Energy, Department of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Agency, as well as presidential advisor Carol Browner, encouraged them to follow President Obama’s March 9, 2009 memorandum on “Scientific Integrity”.
