Western Australia Call for Cattle Projects
AUSTRALIA - Applications are being sought for research and development projects that may be eligible for funding under special provisions of the Cattle Industry Compensation Act.Department of Agriculture and Food animal industries development director Mark Dolling said every year funds were made available for research, development and other purposes of benefit to the cattle industry.
"The Cattle Industry Compensation Act (CICA) also allows for part funding of larger projects in collaboration with other bodies, or smaller stand alone projects, however, the preference is for projects with future potential for wider industry funding," Dr Dolling said.
"Individuals, groups or organisations can apply for funds to a maximum of $50,000 per year, for periods of up to three years. The grants are available from 1 July 2009."
Applicants need to identify the specific goals of a project and the expected benefits to industry. The process is subject to peer review, which is presented to the CICF Research Advisory Committee in May.
Project submissions must be received by 5.00pm 30 April 2009. No late submissions will be accepted.
