BRAZIL - Brazilian beef is attracting a lot of interest from Egyptian importers at the Cairo International Fair.On Tuesday, Egyptian businessmen continued seeking business opportunities at the Brazilian stand at Cairo International Fair. Zaky Ibrahim explained that his company plans to import at least one tonne of Brazilian beef per month. "Our company wants to replace imports of buffalo meat from India for imports of Brazilian beef," he said.
According to Ibrahim, his company hopes to buy Brazilian beef as it already has good acceptance on the Egyptian market and offers the adequate requirements, in terms of quality and price, for the needs of local consumers.
But Egyptian businessmen are not only interested in importing Brazilian products. Many sought the stand targeting the Brazilian market with their products. This is the case with Ahmed Hassan, who plans to export Egyptian ceramics to Brazil.
"There is certainly a good chance, as in Brazil we mainly tend to import ceramics from Europe. And Egyptian ceramics, which have good reputation, could compete with the European product in terms of prices," said Lima, adding that he should supply the Egyptian exporter with contacts of Brazilian companies that may be interested in the purchase of ceramics for facing.
