Daily Dairy Trading: Blocks Edge Higher as Barrels Drop

US – Forty pound Cheddar blocks closed up a cent finishing Monday on $1.6750.

This left block values over a cent stronger than five hundred pound Cheddar Barrels which lost 0.75 cents, down to $1.6625.

At the close, Cheddar had traded above last week’s average of $1.6581 for Blocks and $1.6463 for Barells.

Butter remained unchanged on $1.5250 with no trades, as did non-fat dry milk which last recorded prices of $1.7400 for Grade A standard and $1.7100 for Extra Grade.

Class III July milk closed at $17.27 – an increase of 3 cents. The futures market saw Class IV July milk finish on $19.09.
