Stability in the cattle trade for another week
In week ended 29 October, deadweight cattle prices generally levelled for another week, as the trade remained in a very fine balance. At 31,800 head, AHDB estimates suggest that the number of cattle processed was back 800 head on the week earlier, possibly taking the edge off the downwards pressure of late a little. The GB prime cattle average price was virtually unchanged on the week earlier, at 349.5 p/kg. It has moved between the narrow ranges of 349p/kg to 350p/kg over the past three weeks.
