Ishkhan Karapetyan, head of the State Food Safety Agency, said that the amendments contain the demand of slaying cattle only in slaughterhouses.

According to ARKA News Agency, it means only meat of cattle slain in slaughterhouses will be allowed for sale.

Information about the slaughterhouse will be necessary on product labels.

Those officials, economic entities or individuals defying this requirement will pay fines amounting to AMD 20,000 for individuals and AMD 100 for officials, Mr Karapetyan said.
