The corned beef which had expired was re-labelled with Exeter Corned beef labels by the importers of the product.

Pulse Ghana says that this is a way of getting unsuspecting buyers to patronise the product.

According to Accra-based Starr FM, the FDA retrieved this product during a post-market surveillance exercise.

It was also discovered that the expiry dates of some of the products had been cleaned in order to prevent any suspicions and customers not purchasing the product.

Meanwhile, producers, marketers and sellers of food have been assembled to brainstorm on food safety practices as the Food and Drugs Authority organizes the first ever Food Safety Conference.
