“Brangus cattle producers will continue to benefit from more reliable testing with fast laboratory turn-around and the best in class team for customer support,” said Jim Johnson, National Sales Manager for beef genetics with Zoetis. “A more economical price structure makes i50K test a great tool for all Brangus breeders.”

“This is a significant price decrease for Brangus breeders,” said Tommy Perkins, executive vice president of the International Brangus Breeders Association (IBBA). “Through our positive relationship with Zoetis we are able to reduce the overall costs for producers that choose to use genomic technology.”

Perkins adds that the i50K test is valuable for Brangus breeders who want to make more precise mating decisions using genomically-enhanced (GE) EPDs. “The i50K test is imputed up to the HD50K for our cattle evaluation that results in GE-EPDs,” explained Perkins. “Breeders can make more informed decisions and shorten up the amount of time needed to make significant improvement in key traits.”
