Denmark Sees Trend for Organic Beef for New Year
DENMARK - Sales of high grade cuts from organic livestock have been in high demand in Denmark running up to New Year's Eve.

Over the past two years, sales of cuts such as tenderloin, entrecote and filet increased by 56 per cent, and Europe's largest organic meat supplier Danish Crown Friland expects to be sold out on New Year's Eve.
“We have been really busy getting enough cattle to be slaughtered and getting the meat to the customers, but we have virtually sold out of the best cuts,” said the director of the Friland, Henrik Biilmann.
“This applies to the sale of meat from free-range cattle, organic cattle and calves and it underlines a marked trend in Denmark, which shows that more and more consumers are looking for welfare products when buying meat for Feasts.
“When we look at pork, we have seen a marked increase in sales of organic pork roast, and it is exactly the same for sales of organic beef for New Year's Eve.
“We are obviously very pleased with the increased demand, and therefore we are also working hard to keep up,” Mr Biilmann added.
