The move will see grass and grain finished cattle, some of it Angus, shipped to the US via Cargill’s Distribution team.

‘Teys is a known and trusted Australian beef processor,” said John Niemann, president of Cargill Food Distribution.

He described the ‘long-standing’ relationship Cargill has had with the Teys family adding that he believes the US public will embrace Teys products.

Teys is a vertically integrated business and, as such, is in charge of the animal ‘from field to fork’.

This covers the rearing, feedlot, slaughtering, processing and delivery stages.

Michael Forrest, Teys USA general manager said: “Teys is excited by the opportunity to offer their high quality Australian beef products to American consumers through the Cargill Food Distribution (CFD) network.

“The agreement with CFD will allow both Teys Australia and CFD to offer existing and new customers an unrivalled range of products and the highest level of customer service in the industry.”
