The united genetics company will be offering a single sales team, which they believe will offer a truly customer focused structure.

Cogent acquired World Wide Sires UK cattle breeding business, and Dairy Daughters, the UK’s first supplier of purely Holstein semen, in January 2011. Since then they have been working closely together, but run as separate businesses with individual sales teams. From the 2 September, that is all set to change explains the Managing Director of the Cogent Group, Mark Evington.

“In response to a large and growing number of requests from our customers, we are amalgamating all three of our UK sales forces under a single identity to create a unified sales force, with an on-farm, telesales and web presence.”

He adds: “By bringing the three brands closer together, our customers will benefit from improved operating efficiencies, and will be allocated a single sales specialist who will work closely with them to offer expert advice and products from a wider portfolio of high-quality beef and dairy bulls.”

The amalgamation of the three companies will allow Cogent Ltd to offer farmers a single bull brochure representing all the three product portfolios, and a joint website. Invoice and deliveries will stream line into a single system. Additional services such as the Worldwide Mating Service (WMS), the Visions young bull testing programme and the PinPoint dairy breeding management service will continue to be available under the new single organisation.
