La Pintada, a rural township in the Cocle region of northern Panama, was wrongly connected to an outbreak of human Brucellosis, after being disease free since 2005.

The government is satisfied with the work of authorities and producers in cooperating to combat the disease.

Tuberculosis is proving more difficult to control for MIDA.

Eradication, control and prevention methods are still in place across the country with the hope of receiving tuberculosis free status from the World Animal Health Organisation (OIE).
