Five Year Beef Import Increase Over 1000 Per Cent

CHINA - Developments and expansion within the upper classes and the restaurant and hotel sector have led to beef imports leaping 1,346 per cent since 2008.

Australia dominates import volume with 39 per cent of China's importing market, according to figures from the Argentinian Department for Agriculture and Livestock. 

Uruguay (37 per cent) is the second largest contributor, with Brazil (14 per cent) and New Zealand (12 per cent) also considerable trading partners. 

Further increases in 2013 are expected.
