Christine Walsh has joined the organisation as supply chain development manager amid growing opportunities for the export of beef and lamb, including fifth quarter products.

She is joining from EBLEX’s sister organisation MLCSL and will work directly with processors, offering advice and support on markets and products, including packaging and presentation.

Christine said: “I’m looking forward to working closely with the supply chain and helping abattoirs improve income by reducing waste.”

Dr Phil Hadley, EBLEX southern senior regional manager, said: “Christine is a great addition to the team to strengthen our activity within the processing sector given her particular experience of reviewing product streams, increasing carcase utilisation and reducing wastage.

“The ever increasing export market gives processors of all sizes opportunities to reduce waste by upgrading products that are not consumed in this country but are highly valued in overseas markets. Christine will assist processors in this area to enable them to understand and access these markets.”
