It is the first time the virus has been detected in Norway.

Through a Schmallenberg monitoring system, the deaths of 21 lambs, five cavlves and two fawns were investigated in the Spring, however the virus was not detected in any of the samples.

To identify the prevalance of the virus in Norway, bulk milk tank samples will be regularly tested.
