IBR Alert in Iceland

ICELAND - Infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) has been confirmed in one dairy cow in Fljótsbakki í Eiðaþinghá in Iceland.

As a result, all dairy herd will have bulk tank milk samples taken, with results expected shortly. Analysis by PCR has so far been negative but further samples will be taken.

Any infected animal will be slaughtered. As of yet no final decision has been made regarding control measures, however vaccination is prohibited.
