Live Exporters Could Seek Compensation of $250 Million
AUSTRALIA - The lawyer leading the live exporters' compensation case believes the Federal Government could be liable for more than $250 million.

McCullough Robertson is one of two law firms trying to get the Federal Government to admit it made a "reckless decision" in suspending livestock exports to Indonesia last year, reports ABC Rural.
Senior associate Trent Thorn says he has fewer than 30 clients, but one or two join the case each week.
"There's a number of people who I know are taking a bit of a wait and see approach in the background," he said.
"When there's going to be significant traction in terms of moving towards resolution, I think we'll find that the numbers are going to swell significantly, when we see potentially the government paying money."
The Department of Agriculture says it will not be commenting on the compensation case while legal discussions are ongoing.
