Mr Parish, a former farmer who re-launched the APPG earlier this summer, is among the speakers at the event at the Chesford Grange Hotel, Kenilworth, on October 30.

The conference, examining opportunities for beef and lamb in a changing global marketplace, will also feature a retailer’s perspective from Marks and Spencer head of agriculture, Steve McLean, and how producers put science into practice through beef farmer and EBLEX board member Paul Westaway.

EBLEX sector director Nick Allen will give an overview of the outlook for beef and lamb, while head of trade development, Peter Hardwick, will look at global opportunities for the sector. Consumer marketing at home is due to come under the spotlight in a presentation from Jane Ritchie-Smith, EBLEX consumer marketing manager, and livestock and climate change will be in focus with Chris Lloyd, EBLEX industry development manager.

Dr Phil Hadley, EBLEX senior regional manager and event organiser, said: “Our annual conference provides the ideal platform for all involved in our sector to meet and discuss an array of industry issues. We have an excellent programme of presentations which I’m sure delegates will find interesting and informative.”

The conference, free to EBLEX levy payers, will also include question and answer sessions, with EBLEX staff on hand to discuss technical issues and demonstrate other aspects of the organisation’s work.

Places can be reserved by phoning 0870 608 6610 or emailing [email protected]. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Further details can be found in the Annual Conference 2012 section of the EBLEX website www.eblex.org.uk.
