IFA Work on Slaughter of Injured Animals

IRELAND - Irish Farmers Association (IFA) Animal Health Chairman John Waters met senior officials in the Department of Agriculture this week seeking a solution to the problems with the slaughter of injured animals.

Mr Waters said IFA is working closely with the Department of Agriculture, FAWAC, MII and Veterinary Ireland to come forward with a practical and workable solution on this issue.

He said all parties accept that the current situation is not working satisfactorily and a more practical solution must be progressed.
