The ‘Taste of England’ event, the first in a series of three, will focus on the growing demand for locally and regionally produced beef and lamb.

It follows a recent poll1 which revealed 86 per cent of consumers are keen to know where their meat has been sourced from when eating out - and 73 per cent who said they would be more likely to order a meat dish if they knew it had been sourced from the local area.

Taking place at Cross Lanes Organic Farm in County Durham, the day will include presentations from livestock and butchery experts and delegates will also have the opportunity to sample dishes prepared by Nigel Haworth, which will feature a number of alternative beef and lamb cuts that could help increase margins.

Hugh Judd, EBLEX foodservice project manager, said: “The ‘Taste of England’ event will be an invaluable experience for everyone attending. Farmers, butchers and caterers will have the chance to meet face-to-face to learn how they can work together to produce quality beef and lamb for the consumer – while improving their own margins.”

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
