The upgraded Meat and Education website www.meatandeducation.com – backed by EBLEX, BPEX and Hybu Cig Cymru Meat Promotion Wales (HCC) – will support teaching and learning about red meat in schools.

It helps give a greater understanding about beef, lamb and pork in a healthy balanced diet, where it comes from and how to cook it safely. New features include lesson modules providing clear information and teaching resources on red meat, all linked to the curriculum, additional recipes and video clips.

During the next academic year, the site will also feature new cooking videos, interactive whiteboard activities and A-level materials.

Nicola Wilde, EBLEX and BPEX education and health manager, said: “The red meat industry has given a long term commitment to supporting food education for young people. The new website ensures that we will continue to lead the field in enabling students to gain valuable life skills which benefit them in their lives outside school.”
