Armenian Ag Ministry Forecasts Growth Next Year

ARMENIA - Agricultural production has increased by 32.4 per cent for the year to 1 August compared to the same period in 2010.

"Livestock production grew by 1.2 per cent. Cattle increased by 1,600 head, small cattle by 23,500 while the number of pigs grew by 3,500. Milk production increased by 3,000 tons. Egg production decreased by 20 per cent to total 380 million eggs," Deputy Agriculture Minister, Grisha Baghyan, told a news conference in Yerevan, reports Panarmenian.

He noted that despite the 20 per cent global growth of milk prices, Armenia saw an eight per cent surge.
