NCBA Executive Director of Legislative Affairs, Kristina Butts, said: “NCBA’s public policy and communications internship provides students with valuable real world experience as well as a first hand glimpse of the work NCBA does in Washington, DC, to ensure ranchers are able to continue raising cattle and producing high-quality, healthy beef.

“We are looking for college students with an interest in the beef industry and in public policy to help NCBA’s government affairs team. The internship is designed to work closely with the lobbying team on Capitol Hill; to assist with NCBA’s regulatory efforts; and help the communications team make NCBA’s voice heard through both new and traditional media channels.”

The full-time internship will begin 12 September, 2011 and end 16 December, 2011.

To apply, interested college juniors and seniors should submit the application, an official college transcript, two letters of recommendation and a resume to [email protected] by 12 August, 2011.

More information about the NCBA public policy internship is available on NCBA’s website.

“From food safety and trade to environmental issues and taxes, this internship will give college students the opportunity to work alongside NCBA staff on many critical issues affecting US cattlemen and women,” Ms Butts said.

“If you or someone you know is interested in this opportunity, we encourage you to apply.”
