Floods in Queeensland are affecting the markets and according to a report on Bloomberg, one of two shifts were expected to restart in Australia's largest beef procesor, Swift Australia, after flood waters closed it down.

Another Swift Austrlia plant could restart opertaions later this month, but the analysts say that the processors are having problems getting teh animals to the plants.

"It is going to have an impact in terms of slowing the start of our business across Queensland," Swift Australia director John Berry told Bloomberg.

"Infrastructure is the major challenge, whether it be road or rail."

The national director of processing at the Australian Meat Industry Council said moving the product from the flood-stricken areas has proven to be challenging, one parket report says.
