JBS has said that due to the current situation in Argentina, of low cattle supplies and restricted exports, it feels it only is only best to reduce production.

The company said that the sale of some plants is possible.

Other news sources have suggested that JBS will struggle to sell plants, due to a lack of buyers and investment in the country.

According to Estado.com , JBS is looking to sell three of its eight units in the country.

The beef market situation in Argentina is not improving. In the first half of 2010, cattle slaughter fell by 45 per cent, in comparison with 2009.
