Australian Beef Week Ready To Roll

AUSTRALIA - Final plans are been put together for Stock and Land Beef Week, held in South-East Australia.

With 229 leading south-east beef cattle studs entered, organisers are expecting to welcome thousands of visitors from all states and overseas.

Beef Week opens on Sunday 31 January in the area north of Melbourne and concludes on Sunday 7 February in the are south and south-east of Melbourne.

Beef Week is in its 19th year and continues to provide an outstanding showcase for seedstock producers to display their cattle. Over the eight days many purchases take place and decisions made as to which on-property sales to attend over the coming weeks.

For many seedstock producers, Beef Week is their major marketing activity for the year.

Since Beef Week commenced in 1992, there have been 3943 stud openings in an extraordinary showcase of what seedstock producers in south-east Australia have to offer the commercial industry.

Thirty-three different breeds will be on display his year, the greatest number ever displayed during Beef Week demonstrating the growing diversity of genetics available in south-east Australia.
