AUSTRALIA - King Island could be the first region in Australia to eradicate a costly cattle virus.Bovine Pestivirus is in more than 80 per cent of Tasmania's cattle herds, reports ABCRural. It affects fertility and farmers' profits.
According to ABCRural, the estimated productivity costs of the virus in beef cattle can be $28 per breeder per year, and more than $80 per head for dairy cows.
