Australian Honour to Peter Grieve

AUSTRALIA - Peter Grieve, Talooby Angus, Rylstone, NSW, received a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the recent Australia Day awards for ‘service to primary industry through the promotion of the Angus cattle breed’.

He was a member of Angus Australia’s federal council or board of directors from 1983 to 2008 and was Federal President in 2000-02 and again in 2006-7. He was also a long serving member and a past president of the NSW Angus state committee and a past president of both the Mudgee Beef Promotion Society and the Rylstone/Kandos Show Society.

In 2005, he was awarded life membership of Angus Australia, an honour also held by his father, Ronald Grieve, who was also awarded an OAM in 1993 for ‘Service to primary industry particularly as a breeder of Angus cattle and to the community’.
