Argentina Back on Strike

ARGENTINA - The farmers grain and cattle boycott of sales, began in earnest in Argentina on Friday morning, the FAA farmers association held roadside rallies, as part of the protest against the governments lack of response to their demands.

“We are not trouble makers we are farmers and conscientious people all we want is to be heard: this we will do by refusing to sell grains, no trucks will be made to stop”, CRA leader Nestor Roulet, said on Friday morning, confirming his farm groups decision not to set up road blocks as in the previous dispute.

According to the Argentine Beef Packers. S.A., farmers stopped trucks in Cordoba the second largest city in Argentina, they were refused access to the city.

The FAA farm group is setting up rallies across the country and having meetings with local farmers.

The farm leaders protests, include rallies in front of Congress and in the city of Buenos Aires and San Pedro in provincial Buenos Aires.

Lower House Majority Leader Agustin Rossi, said “the average Argentine opposes the action”, claiming the governments willingness to talk.
