Instability Marks Challenging Times Ahead

Ian Frood, Chairman

Ian Frood, the chairman of Assured British Meat and a farmer himself, says that he is acutely aware of the potential problems which farmers will have to work through in order to ensure the UK industry has a sustainable future.

"Reducing the ever increasing regulatory burden on farmers is vital and providing our consumers with excellent quality beef and lamb and assurances of the high production standards we all work to is essential. Balancing these pressures can be difficult."

He says that the philosophy at ABM is to ensure that the requirements of assurance are practical for farmers, have genuine reasons behind them, add value to the business and ensure continued credibility of our industry.
