AUSTRALIA - The beef industry wants the Federal Government not to jeopardise its exports to Russia in the rift over uranium.According to ABC Online, the Australian Foreign Minister Stephen Smith says Australia is still considering whether to sell uranium to Russia following the conflict in Georgia.
The Russian Ambassador has threatened economic consequences for Australia if the deal doesn't go ahead.
Brad Bellinger, from the Australian Beef Association, says cattle farmers need to keep trading with Russia, which is their fourth biggest market and the only one showing good growth.
"The Federal Government must show a lot of diplomacy in this area," he says.
