Winners at Missouri Junior Angus Preview Show
MISSOURI, US - Missouri junior Angus members led 110 entries at the 2008 Missouri Junior Angus Preview Show at the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association All-Breeds Show, held on June 14 in Sedalia, Mo. John Koons, Manhattan, Kan., evaluated the 14 bulls, 68 owned females, 17 bred-and-owned females, four cow-calf pairs and seven steers before naming the champions.WCC Cupid 777 claimed the grand champion bull title after first winning calf champion. Samuel Wallace, Stotts City, Mo., owns the October 2007 son of MCC Cupid 414.
Lazy P New Frontier T1 was named reserve grand champion bull. Owned by Brandon Pleimann, Oak Ridge, Mo., the January 2007 son of Butch New Frontier P019 first won junior champion.
Kealsi Stedem, Chillicothe, Mo., led WGL Shadaisy 6145 to grand champion owned female. The September 2006 daughter of Circle S Bushwacker 3122 first claimed senior champion honors.
W C C Lass 755 won the reserve grand champion owned female title after being selected as calf champion. Samuel Wallace owns the September 2007 daughter of BC 7022 Raven 7965.
AF Black Angel 608 was named the grand champion bred-and-owned female after first winning senior champion. Erica Atkinson, Walnut Grove, Mo., owns the September 2006 daughter of S A V 8180 Traveler 004.
Austin Sayre, Stotts City, Mo., claimed reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female honors with D A C Jet 71. The January 2007 daughter of Boyd New Day 8005 first won the junior champion title.
Caleb Sayre, Stotts City, Mo., showed the grand champion cow-calf pair. SCC Lucy 6217 is a January 2006 daughter of TC Total 410. A March 2008 heifer calf sired by Boyd Next Day 6010 completes the winning pair.
Sydney Thummel, Sheridan, Mo., exhibited the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. SR Lass 657 is an April 2006 daughter of SR 5175 Bando 315. Her calf is a January 2008 son sired by BR Midland.
Jera Pipkin, Republic, Mo., exhibited the grand champion steer. MCC Woody 776 is an April 2007 son of MCC Cupid 414.
Bryanna Binkley, Jefferson City, Mo., led Souljaboy 703 to the reserve grand champion steer title. He is an April 2007 son of G C C Grizz 0065.
