Default Some heat tolerant breeds.

A new site with some African Bos Taurus breeds and composites, good quality easy keeping cattle for challenging environments; http://sangacattle.webs.com/apps/forums/

The discussion site, while not very active, has some very interesting information, the pictures are impressive, especially the Tuli cattle in dry climatic conditions, and the heat tolerant Bonsmara in the Canadian winter snow!

Anyway, we are looking to start up with meat rabbits now that we have the chickens up and running. We live in SC and I was wondering if there is a breed of rabbit that tolerates the heat better than others. I am planning to have wire floors, shade, open sides in the summer and will probably use cooled tiles and or frozen water bottles in the summer, but would like to start with a breed more suited to this environment if possible. Currently I am most interested in the American Blue, but am open to suggestions. Thanks in advance!

My business is likely to have wire floors, color, open sides in the summer time and definitely will possibly utilize chilled tiles as well as or maybe frozen drinking water bottles in the summer time, although would want to start with a new reproduce much more worthy of this particular surroundings if at all.

A really impressive animal. As far as I remember I saw a few of these when I was travelling Africa. Guess it was Ethiopia...
