teat diease question

Some of our cows are getting wart like sores on the ends of the teats. The sores cause the teat ends to crater out and makes milking dificult.

Any idea what it is? How to treat?

I will post some pics as soon as I get the chance..

Here is a pic of what we are dealing with. The sores are mainly concentrated on the ends of the teats.

Thanks!

Hi all,
I'm going to suggest that this looks like 'Blackspot', a lump of proud flesh at the teat end, there is no single specific cause more usually the result of a few such as milking machine damage, chilling of the teats if during bad weather then a secondary infection from the bacterium F necrophorus [also causes Fouls].
Rena is spot-on with her teat-dip advice, follow her routine and you may need to also use antibiotics but give her method a few days first.
Good luck !
Jon
